The Barbara Speake Agency

Under the Direction of Mrs June Billham

Established 1961

All children enrolled at the school are automatically on the Agency books, who then become the pupil's sole representative while he or she is at the school, un-less otherwise agreed. The Agency specialises in Television, Film, Theatre and Commercial engagements.

Liaison between the academic and artistic staff and the Agency enables constant assessment of potential so that individual talents can be encouraged and utilised.

All pupils will be professionally photographed as and when necessary. They will also be entered into ’Spotlight’, the entertainment industry’s casting directory that is sent to all casting Directors. Costs for Spotlight, professional photographs and licence administration are included within the full time school fees. Entry into Spotlight is obligatory for ALL children at the full time school.

A 20% commission is charged on all professional work, and all pupils are chaperoned on such work by experienced chaperones, who have been licensed by the local education authority, and subject to enhanced DBS checks (previously CRB).

Joining the agency does not guarantee auditions or professional engagements. All children are suggested for engagements when they meet the criteria for a particular brief, however it is then at the discretion of the casting director for who they choose to see, and not that of the agency.

Outside applicants interested in joining the agency books should contact the agency directly.
